Minutes approved
Two Course proposals that require attention and action.
First, HLH 330 proposal.
JM � It is a new course �in a changing concentration that is required for the concentration.
RG � What about HLH 210 Wellness and Health promotion?� Description is different than this course.
Also, the point was brought up regarding item #4 Justification of course level
stating �students will need some background in general health content and presentation skills��
Clarification is needed regarding this statement
Also, complete # 2 Justification (perhaps stating that it is part of a new concentration)
Also, for # 12, please add a check mark or NA (not applicable)
Also, for # 10, it should it be Yes if required for a new proposed concentration?
The committee will grant electronic approval pending upon completion of corrections (e-mail final copy to committee members.
For the HLH 525 proposal:
Course can not be repeated for credit
For #1, add: �as related to humor and health� to end of Catalog description.
Also, list all health programs undergrad and grad
For HLH 525 also, the course schedule on the syllabus needs clarification to enable the reader to see how the content will be provided over a 14 week schedule.
Both HLH 330 and HLH 525 need to be submitted on updated New Course Proposal forms available online.� HLH 525 needs to be submitted with the entire New Course Proposal form.
The committee has decided to table the decision on HLH 525 until the entire updated New Course Proposal form is received (with suggested changes made as listed above)
M. Dodd submitted two course proposals for Sport Management, SPM 285 and SPM 247.
SPM 285 needs to be resubmitted using the updated New Course Proposal forms available online.
JH asked if the Professional Studies Independent major option proposal was still a possibility.� RG replied that it is still an option and it just has yet to be presented.
